The Office of Student Affairs and Services held the 9th Gawad Floro Crisologo at the UNP Gymnasium on June 11, 2024, with the theme “Nothing Grows Without a Seed: Let it Sprout! Keep it Alive!” This annual event celebrated the achievements of student achievers, leaders, journalists, and advisors in different fields.

Dr. Erwin Cadorna in his message expressed acknowledgement of the efforts, sacrifices, and dedication that have brought the students to the moment. He also acknowledged the people who have helped them along the way: their parents, teachers, friends, and loved ones who have watered their seeds with love, guidance, and support.

Dr. Cadorna expressed that “the seeds we plant are not just about our academic achievements, they are about the relationships we build, the kindness we show, and the positive impact we have on the world around us.”

He continued his message, saying “every seed we plant has the potential to grow into something beautiful, something life-changing, and something that can bring joy to ourselves and to others.”

Atty. Kent Alvin L. Guzman, Public Attorney I at the Public Attorney Office of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, District Office, delivered his speech as the keynote speaker of the annual event. Hon. Jhunel F. Tanurio, President of the Student Council, expressed his words of gratitude, and Dr. Mariano Paterno F. Avila, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, gave his closing remarks summarizing the entirety of the annual event.

Also present during the award ceremony were Dr. Rolando B. Navarro (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Mario P. Obrero (Faculty Regent), the deans of academic units, and faculty members.
