SDG 12 - REPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION

UNP is taking SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, running with it, turning it into a campus-wide mission.

Take their #BeatPlasticPollution campaign. It’s not just about wagging fingers at plastic users; it’s about getting everyone fired up to ditch the use of single-use plastics products, and embrace eco-friendly alternatives. They’re turning students into environmental warriors, one reusable bag at a time.

Then there’s the Nasaririt Shark Store, run by the UNP Student Council. It’s a showcase of student-made goodies, proving that local, and handmade can be both cool, and sustainable. It’s like a farmers’ market, but with a youthful, creative twist.

UNP’s got a knack for turning trash into treasure, too. They’re taking leftover materials from the Kannawidan Festival, and transforming them into eye-catching University-made crafts which are exhibited. It’s recycling with a higher purpose!

But they’re not stopping there. The STEP-UP Project is shaking up the hospitality industry, making sure tourism doesn’t cost the earth. Plus, the truly innovative UNP Trashion Show – it’s where recycling meets the runway, proving that sustainability can be seriously stylish.

UNP’s even teaching locals how to make paper charcoal. It’s not just about creating eco-friendly fuel; it’s about lighting the spark of sustainability in the community.

From plastic-busting to fashion-forward recycling, from student-made products to community outreach, UNP is turning responsible consumption, and production into a way of life. They’re not just preparing students for a sustainable future; they’re building it, one innovative idea at a time. That’s the UNP way – creative, committed, and environment-friendly cool.
