SDG 6 - CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION

At UNP, they’re not just talking about clean water and sanitation – they’re making it happen. The campus is transforming into a green oasis, with fruit trees, and beneficial plants sprouting up everywhere. They’ve implemented a smart irrigation system that’s keeping everything lush while conserving water.

UNP’s efforts extend beyond campus borders. They’ve partnered with the DENR to protect key ecosystems, and ensure their University hospital’s wastewater meets strict standards. When it comes to drinking water, they’re providing nothing but the best – all Philippine National Standards certified.

But the University’s ambition in contributing to SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, does not stop there. They’re adopting coastal barangays, and planting mangroves with enthusiasm. These trees are nature’s superheroes, combating coastal erosion, and providing habitats for marine life.

The University has also adopted two tree-planting sites, transforming barren land into thriving forests. In an innovative twist, they’re exploring indigenous water management practices, effectively blending ancient wisdom with modern technology.

From their green campus to coastal projects, from cutting-edge tech to traditional knowledge, UNP is making significant strides in water conservation, and sanitation. They are not just teaching about a sustainable future; they’re actively building it, one tree, and one drop at a time. This is how UNP is tackling SDG 6, proving that Universities can be powerful agents of environmental change.
