SDG 7 - AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY

UNP is taking bold strides to champion SDG #7 – Affordable and Clean Energy. The University is walking the walk with smart, energy-efficient building designs that maximize natural light, and cut down on air conditioning needs. Solar panels are sprouting up across campus, with plans for even more, while solar-powered street lights keep the grounds safe, and well-lit at night.

But UNP’s commitment goes beyond infrastructure. They’re nurturing the next generation of clean energy innovators through their curriculum. Engineering, and tech students are diving into exciting renewable energy projects, exploring everything from wind, and solar power to bioenergy technologies. These are not just theoretical — these students are cooking up real-world solutions that could shape the future of energy.

The University is also shaking up campus transport with electric bikes, offering a greener alternative to gas-guzzlers. UNP is pushing the boundaries of energy research, delving into cutting-edge areas like energy-efficient technologies for industry, and buildings, and innovative energy storage solutions.

From smart building designs to hands-on student projects, UNP is proving that Universities can be powerhouses for clean energy progress. They’re not just teaching about a sustainable future – they’re actively building it, one solar panel and research project at a time.

UNP’s commitment to SDG #7 is more than just a goal – it’s woven into the very fabric of the University. They’re not just preparing students for the future; they’re empowering them to create a cleaner, more sustainable world for all.

Empowering Consumers Through Clean Energy Transitions

UNP is committed to raising awareness about the importance of clean energy transition. In partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Business Management Association of the Philippines, the university conducted a seminar on consumer protection with the theme “EMPOWERING CONSUMERS THROUGH CLEAN ENERGY TRANSITION.” This seminar aimed to educate participants about the benefits of clean energy and encourage energy-efficient choices in homes and businesses.
