SDG 6 - CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION
The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) has implemented several initiatives to address Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which focuses on ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water, and sanitation for all.
Project Danggay: A Donation Drive for the Victims of Super Typhoon Egay
The CBAA Students and OBAS Officers extended their donations through the activity dubbed “Project Danggay: A Donation Drive for the Victims of Super Typhoon Egay”. The donations include food packs, bottled water, and clothing.
Salwad Aglawlaw Program (Protect the Environment)
The Salwad Aglawlaw program is a year-long event composed of various eco-related activities that aim to help spread and foster awareness on environmental protection, ecological solid waste management, and to take action towards the realization of the sustainable development goals. This initiative also supports the Banning of Single-Use Plastic program of the university.
KAPIT BISIG INITIATIVE: Distribution of Prophylaxis for Leptospirosis
Prophylaxis for leptospirosis is an approach in which an individual takes an antibiotic to reduce the likelihood of infection, either before or after potential exposure, such as through water, soil, or food contaminated with the urine from infected animals, especially during the rainy or harvest seasons
