The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being through its comprehensive approach to medical education, research, and community engagement. As an institution offering medicine and allied health professional programs, UNP has developed a strategic plan to contribute significantly to achieving SDG 3.
Description: The Medical Dental Services Office and the College of Criminal Justice Education collaborated to host a seminar on oral health. This program aimed to educate students on proper dental hygiene and its importance for overall well-being. By promoting preventive care, the initiative helps reduce health risks within the university community.
Description: The MSO and CGAD collaborated to establish a breastfeeding room in the university. This initiative provides a private, hygienic, and comfortable space for working mothers to breastfeed or express milk. It supports the health and well-being of both mothers and infants and aligns with the university's commitment to creating a supportive environment for its female employees.
Description: The MDSO, in partnership with the Center for Gender and Development and the College of Nursing, distributed red ribbons across campus to raise awareness for World AIDS Day. This initiative aimed to inform the community about HIV/AIDS and reduce the stigma associated with the disease. It promotes compassionate conversations about prevention and treatment, which is crucial for achieving universal health coverage.
Description: The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) and the College of Health Sciences (CHS) conducted a seminar-workshop on fire safety and fire suppression. This activity equipped community members with essential skills to respond to emergencies and manage health risks associated with accidents. This initiative directly contributes to building a resilient and prepared community.

Description: The College of Health Sciences and the Department of Languages and Humanities collaborated on a Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CB-DRRM) workshop. This initiative strengthens community resilience against health-related and climate-related disasters, fostering a prepared and proactive community. It is a prime example of inter-college and multi-sectoral partnership.
