BTLEd, BTVTEd, MATLE programs hold skills training
In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) facilitated a skills development training for community members at Gawad Kalinga in Candon City on April 28, 2023. Organized by the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd), Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd), and Master of Arts in Technology and Livelihood Education (MATLE) programs, the training focused on meal and nutrition planning, specifically in snack production techniques such as buchi and churros making. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with local government units and the Gawad Kalinga Foundation, aimed to equip participants with valuable skills to generate additional income through food production. Emphasizing food safety and quality control, the training empowered individuals to enhance their economic opportunities while fostering entrepreneurship within the community. Participants expressed enthusiasm about applying their newfound knowledge in future ventures.
Level Up Your Money: Training on Financial Literacy
The College of Business Administration and Accountancy in collaboration with the University Extension Office spearheaded an extension activity at ISPPO at Bulag, Bantay, Ilocos Sur. This activity aims to expand the campaign and awareness in improving socio-economic financial status of individuals.
