The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) demonstrates a strong commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work, and Economic Growth through its comprehensive approach to education, skills development, and community engagement.
Description: UNP partnered with the Office of the Vice Governor, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and other organizations to host a job fair titled "Sukisok Pagsapulan." The event connected graduating students and alumni with various employers, providing opportunities for productive employment and career advancement. This collaboration directly supports the goal of achieving decent work for all.
Description: As part of National Prisoner’s Month, the College of Technology conducted an extension program on t-shirt printing at the Ilocos Sur Provincial Jail. This initiative aimed to equip inmates with practical livelihood skills, promoting their rehabilitation and preparing them for productive employment upon their reintegration into society. This directly addresses the goal of decent work and economic growth for a marginalized population.
